Design for 1000th edition of Lustige Blätter Der Grippeball, 1918 Der Hund, 1929





From 1875 to 1880 W A WELLNER studied at the Koenigliche Kunstakademie where he met and bacame good friends with Lovis Corinth. In 1890 he became a caricaturist and illustrator for Lustige Blätter and continued this assossiation for the next forty-six years. The weekly magazine Lustige Blätter was founded in Hamburg in 1886 by Dr. Otto Eysler and published until 1944.
