Ernst Krantz (1889 Bartenstein-1954 Berlin) was a pupil of Lovis Corinth and influenced by
Max Klinger as well as the Impressionists. He experimented with cubism, constructivism, and abstraction
while studying in Paris. On returning to Berlin he worked with the "Novembergruppe" where
he produced expressionist works of very high quality. In 1973 there was an important exhibition
at the Berlinischen Galerie of over fifty works by Krantz.
