Friedrich Heubner (1886-1974), painter and graphic artist, was a pupil
of Julius Diez at the Münchner Kunstgewerbeschule. He became a member of the working group “6”
along with Emil Preetorius and others, whose aim was a renewal of the art of advertisement.
From 1923 to 1940 he was Professor of Freie Grafik at the Staatsschule für angewandte Kunst in Nuernberg.
In 1940 he became a Professor at the Akademie für angewandte Kunst in Munich. Heubner contributed extensively
to Jugend and Simplicissimus amongst other German illustrated satirical and cultural magazines.
